QuickMerge was founded in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador to provide practical file tools that reduce unnecessary document exposure. Many online file tools require sending a document to a remote service before they can process it.
QuickMerge uses local browser processing for supported operations. Some libraries use Web Workers, while many operations still run on the page's main thread; large jobs can therefore make the tab temporarily unresponsive. The browser file APIs let those supported workflows read and rewrite the selected file without sending its contents to a QuickMerge processing server.

How It Works
QuickMerge uses a browser-based architecture built around inspectable, widely used web technologies:
- Proven open-source libraries: pdf-lib and pdf.js power reliable PDF and image processing
- Web Workers: Used by some processing libraries; many operations still use the main thread
- Modern JavaScript APIs: For local browser file access and in-memory processing
- Local processing: Supported operations work with the selected file in browser memory instead of a QuickMerge document-processing server

We chose to establish our operations in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador because of the region's growing tech ecosystem, commitment to innovation, and strong community values. Being based in Atlantic Canada allows us to build tools with a global perspective while maintaining local roots.
How We Test and Publish
QuickMerge is built and reviewed by Mehran, the founder and lead developer. New tools are tested with representative files before publication, including successful output checks, invalid-input behavior, mobile layout, and a regression check for existing tools. The full standard — who writes content, how tools are tested, how sources are cited, and how corrections and advertising are handled — is set out in the editorial policy.
Real output verification
We open or parse generated files to confirm that a download is valid—not merely that a button produced a file.
Limitations disclosed
Browser memory, complex document layouts, encrypted inputs, and device performance can affect results. Tool pages should state material limitations instead of hiding them.
Privacy checked
Supported document operations are reviewed to confirm that file content remains on-device. Optional analytics and ads are consent-gated and do not receive document contents.

If a tool, guide, or privacy statement is inaccurate, visitors can report it through the contact page for investigation and correction.
