Why every tool here runs on your device
These are file tools, and files are the part of a task most worth not handing to a stranger. A PDF sent to a conversion site is a contract, an invoice, a payslip or a medical letter sitting on somebody else's disk, for however long their retention policy says — and you have no way to check that it was deleted.
QuickMerge avoids the question rather than answering it. Each tool reads your file into browser memory, does the work with JavaScript and WebAssembly running in this tab, and hands the result back as a download. There is no upload step, so there is nothing to retain. You do not have to take that on trust: the proof of privacy page walks through checking it yourself with your browser's network panel, which takes about two minutes.
The trade is real and worth stating. Processing happens on your hardware, so demanding files are faster on a laptop than on an older phone, and a tab that runs out of memory fails where a server might have succeeded. There is no daily server quota or account, but each tool can enforce its own stated browser-safety limit.
